Most of the time there is no problem but sometimes they dig too much or they got something in their tail and suddenly you got brown spots on the wall.
I found a solution, there is a tape that is used when painting, which has plastic attached to the tape. I just put the tape on the wall and fold out the attached thin plastic so that it covers the wall and just change it from time to time.
