Akiva was sold as a pet and came to us when the owners choosed to rehome him, and my daughter Michaela bought him.
He is a fantastic boy and is one of the very, very few real giants (I know everyone always talks about 12-14 kilos MCO:s), but I can honestly say (and I've seen MANY),
that Akivas size is unusual and he is very huge even for a MCO today. My experience is that the cats were overall larger 10 years ago than they are today.
Now people will not belive that he is as huge as he is, when I tell you his weight when in GOOD shape (9.88 kg)!
Akiva is the son of Willie who also was a relatively large boy. He is neutered and been so since he was 6 months old, he never had the chans to sire any kittens.
Akiva is my daughters cat but lived with me for a long time, he is now living with my daughter and grandson.
He was actually almost 13 kilos recently but he was then severly overweight, we did put him on a diet and he is now a lot more mobile and you can see he feels better,
even if he still have some to lose, but we are working on that.
